All Things Are Possible

By Senior Pastor Prince Guneratnam

Jesus spoke of little faith in Matthew 6:30, but in Matthew 8:10, He spoke of great faith. Stephen was a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit (Acts 6:5). The Lord is challenging my heart to believe in ways I have not experienced. I believe the Holy Spirit is not only showing me that it will not be easy but also that the work of the Lord is to be done in might and wisdom of God. Faith is the victory! So, I sought to find a positive theme and I seemed to be quoting Matthew 19:26 – “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

In 1978, we used the same theme and I remembered very well the Holy Spirit making this theme real to me, but I am sensing a greater reality for 1986. My vision in 1978 was to double the congregation, but was tripled in 1983. I saw a responsive congregation moving like an army, witnessing, and homes being used for growth and development. I saw mass crusades held and thousands being blessed with healing and souls being saved. I saw frequent water baptism and greater intakes of members. Certainly, we can say today, after seven years, my vision has come to pass.

The Holy Spirit is moving upon my heart and we can believe God for greater things. Let me share some of the things I see in faith:

·         A doubling and tripling of our congregation.

·         A mighty people moving for God and is a testimony in our nation.

·         A great place being used for His glory and with great shouts of praise and worship ascending to heaven from our new church.

·         The glory of God upon His people and many signs and wonders taking place.

·         Missionaries being sent out both at home and abroad.

The word of the Lord is, “With God all things is possible.” Believe God with me and let us reach out and possess the land that the Lord has given to us.

The Lord spoke to Joshua, “See I have given Jericho into your hand, its king and mighty men of valour.” This was said earlier in chapter 6 verse 2 of Joshua, but the actual possession of Jericho did not come until a long time later, in verse 20. I heard the Lord saying that He has given me all that I have seen, but it will take faith in God, who is able to do the impossible.

There are several things we have to do, like Joshua and the people of Israel.  You will find that this is mentioned in chapter 6 of Joshua:

·         They marched around the city.

·         The priests blew their trumpets.

·         They never said a word till they were told to shout with a great shout on the seventh day at the seventh time marching around the city.

·         They were to keep themselves from the accursed things.

·         You must know that there is great significance in these things that Joshua and the people did.

They Marched Around the City

God’s people cannot be idle. They cannot be complacent. They are called to get into action. To be His people, we have no choice but to obey. His people must, with their leader, believe God and act in faith for what may seem impossible. They cannot rely on someone else’s faith. It is a call for everyone to get involved. We must continue till we see His Kingdom is established on earth. We cannot slack, but in everything we must be united in purpose and have a mind to work. Then we shall see the victory!

The priests blew the trumpets

It is God’s servant who leads and brings the message to the people. They are to teach, preach and declare the Word of God. Take heed of God’s message and let the Word of God bring encouragement and faith to your heart. Sometimes there will be corrections and discipline to your soul. Pray for God’s Word daily in your life. Pray for God’s leader that the message will be clear and loud. The trumpet must be sounded and the people must march forward in faith.

They never said a word

The people were not allowed to speak until they were commanded to shout for the Lord. There is no room for unbelief and negative words. If we are going to say something, it should be that which edifies and builds our faith in and our walk with God. We must be optimistic in our approach and in our speech. Let us fill our sanctuary with praise and worship to God. Let us grow in our testimony for him. David said, “I will sing unto the Lord and I will continuously praise Him.”

They were not to touched the accursed things of Jericho

We must not allow the world and all its fancy and glitter to rob us of our spirituality. Live a clean, wholesome life. Let the Lord help you in cleansing your life from things that will bring you a curse. God said, “Be holy for I am holy.”  We must be a people that are peculiar to the world because we DO not the things that will destroy our relationship with God. Thank God for His blood that cleanses us from all filthiness of the flesh and sets us apart from Himself; He will be our Father (2 Corinthians 6:11 – 18).

I can see right now before us one of the greatest challenges. It is to acquire a proper site for our new church building and get the approval for tax exemption. I know it can be done and we will have our site, but you and I must be united in faith, believing that WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.
