Leadership Training Academy in Indonesia
By Chin Yoke Yee

We praise God for the opportunity to contribute in the establishment of the Royal Rangers ministry in Indonesia. With the support of our Missions Department, three Commanders from Calvary Church, Council Chairman Jim Guneratnam, Councilwomen Chin Yoke Yee and Senior Commander Eddy Law were in Indonesia from 3 to 7 March 2009 to conduct the Leadership Training Academy (LTA)*  for this first time in Indonesia.

The training was held at Wisma Nangun Kerti in Begudul on the island of Bali, Indonesia. The group of 63 trainees (48 men and 23 ladies) some of whom were Pastors, some children’s ministry workers were assigned into 7 patrols in which they would work together throughout the LTA.

Commander Jim took the trainees through the Leaders Orientation. Then over the next one and a half days, the trainees were taken through the Rangers Fundamentals. The training conducted in English was simultaneously interpreted into Bahasa Indonesia as some were not fluent in their understanding of English.

“Starting an Outpost” and “Successful Outpost” modules were also included to provide in-depth understanding on the subject matter. In order for the trainees to experience for themselves the running of an outpost meeting, a model outpost meeting was conducted.

Overall, the training was well received and the trainees were enthusiastic to immediately start the RR ministry in their local churches when they returned.
