Calvary Church was dedicated to the glory of God on 11th February 1968
through the efforts of dedicated missionaries. Rev. Tan Sri Prince
and Puan Sri Petrina Guneratnam was the first Malaysian couple to pastor
the Church. From a congregation of 120 in 1968, the church has grown,
pioneered and established 27 daughter churches. Today, Calvary Church and her
outreaches minister to more than 8,400 people.
The
sanctuary in Damansara Heights seats 1,200 with three similar worship
services at 8am, 10.30am and 5pm. It is also equipped with facilities for
close-circuit TV, a worship nursery for parents with infants, video conferencing and simultaneous interpretations into
Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia.
Three Satellite Churches have been set up; in
Damansara Perdana, Cheras and Ampang. They are extensions of Calvary Church
to accommodate the continual growth of the Church. This involves a
decentralization whereby members of the Church living in the vicinity of the
Satellite Churches are encouraged to congregate there.
